The Polish College of Laboratory Medicine
is well-known in the field of clinical laboratory medicine in Poland. The educational goals of the college are closely connected with quality standards and questions related to laboratory accreditation. Wide selection of surveys
The Polish College of Laboratory Medicine started selling EQA surveys in Poland with 40 laboratories in 1996 and now have 400 laboratories. The clients are all kinds of laboratories, including private-sector laboratories as well as large hospitals laboratories.
“The priority in 1996 was just to find means for laboratories from other branches of clinical chemistry to increase their standard of quality,” continues Professor Rogulski. “We looked for an EQA system which would cover all branches of laboratory medicine, not only clinical chemistry, but also urology, haematology, bacteriology, immunology, virology and special clinical chemistry surveys.
Flexibility
“We have changed our mode of doing business a little bit, because the rules are still changing in Poland and there are unexpectedly more rules, which is a big challenge for us,” admits Professor Rogulski, noting at the same time the strengths of Labquality’s EQA system in meeting customer needs.
“The flexibility is very important. Labquality’s surveys are very well diversified. If you want to order a survey covering a very narrow ranges of analysis, you can do it. You may order surveys in the beginning of the year or in the middle of the year. You may resign from a survey or you may order some new surveys if necessary. Also, the payment terms are favourable to clients. You don’t need to order and pay for every survey ordered in advance,” summarizes Professor Rogulski the benefits of Labquality EQA system.
