Labquality is an independent and impartial organization, founded in 1971 and owned by Finnish Society of Clinical Chemistry, Association of Finnish Local and Regional Authorities as well as 19 Local Hospital districts, Finnish Medical Association, Finnish Red Cross, Association of Medical Service Providers and Finnish Union of Experts in Science.

Labquality provides External Quality Assessment (EQA) programmes for clinical laboratories and point-of-care test units in social and health care.

Office

Labquality’s office is situated in Helsinki, Finland.

Labquality has 23 full-time employees. Currently about 100 experts are involved in running the quality assessment programmes. The survey experts for each survey are indicated in the survey report. The working groups consist of various specialists.

Quality system

Labquality’s quality system has been certified to ISO 9001:2008 standard. Certificate.

Participating laboratories

4174 laboratories in 38 countries participate in Labquality’s surveys (September 2009).

International cooperation

Labquality is a member of the European Quality Association of Laboratory Medicine (EQALM) and cooperates with other EQA Organizers in Europe.
